Right after we got back from New York (after a trip to Montgomery, Alabama), we took a vacation to Myrtle Beach--North Myrtle Beach, Paul would want me to clarify. The other Crockers joined us later, but the first day, we had our own little time at the beach.
Timothy was just beginning to say some words, and he kept repeating "Bee. Bee!" for beach as we got ready to leave. He continued saying, "Bee!" as we got in the golf cart and drove to the "beach part of the beach." (Paul informed us that the whole vacation was at the beach, and that "most people" use the expression "beach part of the beach" to refer to the actual water and sand. That was good to know. We had somehow missed the way most people refer to that location.)
We got settled in a spot on the sand. Timothy was a little weirded out, but he kept tentatively saying, "Bee? Bee?" Then we took him to the water. It was cold. He got his little feet wet and didn't seem thrilled over how this bee thing was turning out. Then a larger wave came and actually got his tummy wet. His happy little "Bee! Bee!"s turned into a wail. "Beeeeeeee!" So he and I went back to our spot on the sand while Paul and Daddy played near the water. I asked Timothy, "Where's Paul?" He happily pointed their direction by the ocean and announced. "Bee."
As we sat there on the beach (part of the beach), the tide came (is it out or in?) closer to us. This created a calm little pool for Timothy to play in. So he got in his water time after all.
